These add-ons are basically the key to the flexibility and power of a Kodi system. So losing a lot of repositories was a major blow for the community as well. Just read this article to know about Mucky Duck Repo not Working 2017 – Repo and Addons.

The good news for regular Kodi users is that there is no need to panic now. Your Kodi system and all of your add-ons will also keep on working for the foreseeable future. But, it will be more difficult to find and install new add-ons from now on because some of the most famous repositories are gone. However, all is not lost! There are still lots of great Kodi repositories out there as well. Today we’re going to explain what actually happened to the old repositories and then show you guys some alternatives now that the Mucky Duck Repo and add-ons are down as well.

Why Is Mucky Duck No Longer Available?

Mucky Duck was a famous repository that held add-one. Such as Afdah, 123Movies, Imperial Streams, M4U, MD Sports Extra, and also the Mucky Duck Wizard too. But, on November 15th, 2017, the developer basically announced that he would be closing down the repository and it was also taken offline shortly after.

This actually came on the heels of many other Kodi developers announcing. That they would be shutting down their repositories or also limiting their services too. The first to be affected was the huge Colossus Repo, which was known for hosting some of the most famous add-ons for watching TV and movies, such as Bennu and Covenant. The repo is no longer available and the developers announced on Twitter that they would no longer be developing for Kodi actually. They also asked the community in order to support developers against legal battles with copyright organizations.

Further

Around the same time, the other big repository, Smash, was also found in order to have gone offline. Along with the Ares Wizard and also the Pulse Build. The developers of Noobs and Nerds now decided to shut down their public Twitter account, although the repository itself is still available as well.

Although it has not made public exactly why these repositories were actually taken down. It is highly likely to be because of legal threats from copyright groups. That chose to target some of the biggest Kodi repos as well. These repos held add-ons that could be used to stream content illegally as well. And so the developers were forced to close the repos too.
